The State of Orissa is located in the eastern coast of India The coastal line runs 482 km on the Bay of Bengal .  It has a very moderate climate, which though variable at times is very pleasant through out the year except the raining season from June to August.  It has a vast tribal population belonging to diverse races and culture.  The majority of this population inhabits the forest and hilly regions of Mayurbhanj, Kendujhar, Phulbani, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Balangir, Kalahandi and Korapul districts.  Orissa has as many as 62 tribes, the important of which are Kondha, Koya, Bonda, Gadaba, Paraja,Santal, Juang,Oraon, Saoara, Gond, Ho, Kharia, Bhuyan, Binjhal, Bathudi etc. Each of these tribes is marked for its own culture, different from the other.  A glimpse of their culture activities may not be out of place to corroborate the same.

Itinerary
 
 
Day 1:  Arrive Kolkata. 
Assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon half-day city tour. Overnight in Hotel
 
 
Day 2: Kolkata
Full day city tour of Kolkata visiting Victorial Memorial, Zoological Gardern, Jain temple, Howrha Bridge, Tolley Gunj. Overnight in Hotel

Day 3: Kolkata-Bhubaneshwar by train

After breakfast transfer to the railway station in time to board your train for Bhubaneshwar.  Assistance on arrival and transfer to your hotel.



 
 
Day 4:  Bhubaneshwar-Keonjhar (310 kms;7 hrs)
Depart for Keonjhar.  Enroute visit Nuapatna to see the Sari weaving village. Overnight at Hotel.

 
 
Day 5: Keonjhar (100 kms;3-4 hrs)
After breakfast drive to a few Juang tribal villages or seri cultural villages.  Overnight at hotel.

 
 
Day 6: Keonjhar-Sambalpur (260 kms; 6 hrs)
After breakfast drive for Sambalpur. Overnight at OTDC (Orissa Tourism Development Center).
 
 
Day 7: Sambalpur-Bolangiri (150 kms;4 hrs)
Drive for Bolangri, enroute visiting Baripalli and a few Weaver Men’s village and continue your drive to Bolangri.  Overnight in hotel.
 
 
Day 8: Bolangri-Bhawanipatna (220 kms; 6 hrs)
Drive to Ranipur Jharial.  Visit 64 Yogni Temple and then continue your drive to Bhawanipatna.  Overnight in Inspection Bunglow.
 
 
Day 9: Bhawanipatna
Spend the day exploring a few tribal villages.  Overnight in Inspection Bunglow.
 
 
Day 10: Bhawanipatna-Jeypore (220 kms; 5 hrs)
Today visit the Kotpad Weaver Man’s village and continue your drive to Jeypore.  Overnight in Jeypore.
 
 
Day 11: Jeypore (180 kms; 5 hrs)
Drive from Jeypore to Kudmulguma.  Vist of Bonda and Didyai Tribal market on Thursday and drive back to Jeypore.  Overnight at Jeypore.

 
 
Day 12: Jeypore (160 kms;4 hrs)
Drive from Jeypore to Kundli.  Visit of Paraja market on Friday.  Overnight in hotel.
 
 
Day 13: Jeypore-Rayagada (150 kms;4 hrs)
Depart for Rayagada.  Overnight at Rayagada.

 
 
Day 14: Rayagada (200 kms; 5 hrs)
Drive to Kothagarh (near Belghar).  Visit of of Kuttiya Kondha market and a few Kuttiya Villages.  Overnight at Rayagada.
 
 
Day 15: Rayagada-Taptapani (220 kms;5 hrs)
Drive from Rayagada to Puttasingh.  Visit a few Langia Soura villages and drive to Taptapani.  Overnight at OTDC at Taptapani.

 
 
Day 16: Taptapani-Puri (310 kms; 7 hrs)
Drive to Puri visiting Chilka Lake enroute.  Overnight at Puri in Hotel.
 
 
Day 17: Puri–Konark-Puri (100 kms; 3 hrs)
Full day visit to Konark to visit the Konark temple.  Overnight at hotel.
 
 
Day 18: Puri-Bhubaneshwar (100 kms;3 hrs)
Drive to Bhubaneshwar.  On arrival check into your hotel.  Afternoon city tour.  Overnight at hotel.

 
 
Day 19: Bhubaneshwar-Delhi (by air IC 878 dep 1320 hrs -arr 1530 hrs)
Morning free to explore the downtown.  After an early lunch transfer to the airport in time to board your flight for Delhi.  Assistance on arrival and transfer to your hotel in Delhi.

 
 
Day 20: Delhi
Same day trip to Agra to witness the world famous Taj Mahal and Agra fort. Later in the evening transfer to international airport.
 
 
Day 21: Leave Delhi
Leave Delhi for onward journey or back home.

Day 01  Arrive Delhi
Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at hotel.

 
 
Day 02  Delhi
Full day city tour of Old and New Delhi. Overnight at hotel.
 
 
Day 03  Delhi-Agra
In time transfer to railway station to board train for Agra. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Overnight at hotel.
 
  Day 04  AGRA / OVERNITE TRAIN TO UMARIA
Forenoon excursion to Fatehpur Sikri.  Later in the afternoon leave by overnight train at 1550 hrs. for Umaria.

 
  Day 05  UMARIA/BANDHAVGARH
After arriving at Umaria at 0616 hrs., drive to one of the most popular tiger reserves of India to Bandhavgarh. In the afternoon you will undertake a Jeep-ride in the Jungle. Overnite in Hotel

 
  Day 06  BANDHAVGARH /KANHA ( 240 km/ 6-7 hrs.)
An early morning visit to the Jungles again to see the animals and birds.Thereafter drive to Kanha,  Overnite in Hotel
 
  Day 07  KANHA
In the morning undertake an elephant joy-ride through the unique landscape of Kanha. In the afternoon enjoy a Jeep safari through the wild terrain of Kanha again.
 
 
Day 08  KANHA / KAWARDHA
In the forenoon drive to Kawardha. After checking into the palace, you will have your first exposure of tribal life of the Bastars. Later trip to the surrounding tribal villages. Overnite in Hotel Kawardha Palace.

 
 
Day 09   KAWARDHA / KANKER (251 km / approx 7 hrs.)
Today you drive through the tribal country to Kanker. The countryside will make you feel like being in paradise itself. The virgin and untouched tribal landscape is very fascinating indeed. Explore the verdant surroundings of the palace. Overnight in Hotel Kanker Palace.
 
 
Day 10  KANKER / JAGDALPUR (120 km/3 hrs.)
The drive takes you today to the very heartland of the Bastar tribes. Transfer to Hotel. PM Visit the anthropological museums and the surroundings of Jagdalpur.
 
 
Day 11   JAGDALPUR
Today you have a full day to explore the different tribal villages, which comprises almost 3/4th of the Bastar population, each with their own indigenous culture of spirits, deities, dialects, customs and food habits.
 
 
Day 12  JAGDALPUR
Today you shall get an opportunity to get to know some of the traditional arts and crafts of Bastar, which comprise from wood-craft to terracotta, tribal weaving to Bhatti-chitra (traditional Wall paintings), stone-carving to Bell metal craft, Iron craft and the Bamboo crafts. These crafts reflect the subtle creativity, inventive genius and the imagination of the local craftsmen, who have tried to retain the original purity of perception and core-concepts governing the life styles of their ethos.
 
 
Day 13   JAGDALPUR
After familiarizing yourself with the tribal culture, it's now time to explore the Jungles of the tribal belt too! Today you shall therefore spend the day walking through the greens and verdant landscape of the tribal countryside and savour the typical flora and fauna of the region enroute.
 
 
Day 14  JAGDALPUR / RAIPUR (220 km/5 hours)
You drive to Raipur today and leave the core tribal areas behind you. Enroute take a diversion (23 km off the main road) to Rajim, which is also known as the Varanasi of Chattisgarh. Overnite in hotel.
 
 
Day 15   RAIPUR / DELHI
Transfer to the airport for flight to Delhi (IC-7470 0900/1135 hrs). Assistance on arrival and transfer to your hotel for wash and change. Later in the evening transfer to international airport to connect flight back home.
